Mountain adventures between Europe and Asia

Features: Mountain Goluha, Alexander’s hill, Chashlovsk and Ilmen range, ski resort centre “Solnechnaya Dolina”.

Stand with one leg in Europe and the other one in Asia, get a birds eye view of the mountains and lakes of South Ural,  learn the history of Miass city and hear local legends, visit temples and enjoy a  Russian tea ceremony in birch mugs

9:00 Group meets. Pick up from anywhere in Southern Urals can be arranged at extra cost.

9:10 Tour of the old town of Miass
 
10:00 Climb mount Goluha
(The unique rocky peaks with picturesque traces of weathering).
This an easy climb of about 1,5 kms, mainly on a forest path. Near the summit there will be a Russian tea ceremony ( with herbal tea and pastries). Russian national holiday celebrations "Sobutka" with a bonfire and wandering minstrel like clowns).
From the summit  of Mount Galuha, there is a  magnificent view of the lakes, the City Pond, Golden Valley, the river Miass, Nurali Ringe, Urenga, Ilmensky and Chashkovsky ringes and the peaks of national parks Taganay, Zyuratkul, Iremel, Nurgush, Distant Taganay.

The mountains of South Ural appeared about 600 millions years ago.

There are many  gray, glue- and lichen-covered  rock forms created by centuries of erosion by rain, snow and wind. Fir, pine and birch trees, take on fascinating forms, sometimes similar to the Japanese bonsai trees. They grow on almost bare stones.

11:30 Continue the tour of  Miass, with a stop for souvenirs  and crafts.

12:00 Visit the Troitsky temple, which is still in use.

12:15 Visit the village of Syrastan. Climb Mount Si-Ra Stan and see an ancient heathen temple, an ico-case, kept there. It was placed there in honour of Micholas II. Ifpossible, we will visit the oldest stone Cross Erection Temple.

 
15:00 Return to the departure point.
